“Tradition changes in 1970 and changes itself again in 2016. The substance remains: it seems soft, yet it is glass. The optical illusion of VENINI’s Monofiori is in its name: Balloton, the unique process that recreates the matelassé effect on the surface. The work is hand-crafted, blown into the characteristic metal mold and finished in the thin neck with a colored thread applied hot, which varies in color.”
